UNITE WELCOMES START OF ROAD SPECIALISTS TRAININGS

At the end of the year, DerzhdorNDI SE took an important step towards the development of the market for qualified quality control of road construction: training programs for technical supervision engineers and consulting engineers specializing in road construction were launched. In the conditions of intensive “Big Construction” of roads, there was an increased demand for its professional support against the background of a shortage of certified specialists. Thus, according to the portal of the Unified State Electronic System in the Field of Construction, currently the register of certified consulting engineers contains only 213 records. This is the total number, which also includes revoked certificates. Given that the list includes specialists involved in all types of construction works and also provides for their ranking into 4 categories according to the Handbook of Qualifications of Workers’ Professions, it becomes obvious the need for intensive training for the road industry.

The Association welcomes the launch of training programs. Currently, the scope of certification of DerzhdorNDI SE covers the simplest category of consulting engineer, who can perform tasks only under the guidance of a highly qualified consulting engineer. Therefore, the following recommended steps to saturate the market with the professionals may be:

– expansion of the scope of certification of DerzhdorNDI SE to confirm the qualifications of specialists of all categories already provided by current legislation;

– development of professional standards for fixing specialized qualification requirements for road industry specialists, in particular consulting engineers.
