Deutsche Welle about Ukrainian bridges

The Ukrainian edition of Deutsche Welle interviewed experts about the critical situation with bridges. According to the preliminary assessment of the special commission, more than 10% of the facilities were unsafe.

“The importance of motorways has increased and, accordingly, the attention to these transport corridors has increased,” says Ihor Samokhodskyi, director of the Ukrainian Infrastructure Association UNITE, speaking to DW. – “Bridges are a critical infrastructure that connects the right and left banks of the Dnipro River. Finally, it’s time to get around to it.”

Checking the condition of the facilities is the first step. After that, we plan to accumulate data in a single system to manage the condition and repairs of such structures.
